My road to counselling and psychotherapy has been interesting. Having worked in a caring profession, nursing for over 30 years, I was always at my happiest when interacting with my patients & I have always been a people person.

Eileen Hopkins clearly stands out from the crowd. Assertiveness: Do you long to become more confident and comfortable with personal assertiveness? How do you cope with negativity in other people? and how do you react when someone else is being overbearing towards you? Clear and effective communication is the key to being assertive. In this workshop I will support you as you explore new ways to approach difficult topics and topics, you’re passionate about with constructive approaches. This includes how to say “no” without being portrayed as “offensive,” use body language effectively, express your views and disagreements positively and more.

Confidence Building: Confidence is a tool you can use in your everyday life to do all kinds of things, not least to stop second-guessing yourself, manage your fears and become able to do more of the things that really matter to you. But not many people realize that their self-confidence works just like a muscle – it grows in response to the level of performance required of it. Either you use it, or you lose it. In this workshop I will help you find and exercise your self-confidence muscle so that it becomes a strong and integral part of who you are. Forever, and no matter what life throws at you.

Effective Communication: Communication is a two-way process, so improving communication involves both how we send and receive messages. Effective communication skills are fundamental to success in many aspects of life. The ability to communicate effectively is a key interpersonal skill and learning how to improve our communication has many benefits. This is a very interactive workshop where we explore the barriers to effective communication and how to avoid these.

Emotional wellbeing: Over time, stress and strain builds up, and our capacity to cope with the day-today challenges diminishes. Emotional Wellbeing fosters a deep understanding of how to care for our emotional life.
In this interactive workshop you will gain a greater awareness of your own emotional states and improve your capacity to support both yourself and others, gain greater awareness of your emotional states, build insight into what drives your emotions, learn how to regulate, and not repress, your emotions, understand the importance of self-care and develop enhanced social skills through empathy and compassion.

Pain management: We will look at what exactly is Pain Management. I will explain the difference between acute and chronic pain & discuss the psychology of chronic pain as distinct from acute pain. As the end of this workshop, you will have a better understanding of the rationale behind self-management and why it is so valuable. I will introduce the technique of pacing/baselining as a concept.

Public Speaking and presentation skills: As an award-winning professional speaker, I believe that the essence of effective communications coaching is the ability to hear and identify a client’s potential.
My system will give you the confidence, tools, and ability to speak fearlessly to any audience and to present yourself confidently and compellingly. I work with those who need to improve their communication skills in public situations and speaking before an audience whether it be giving a speech or a presentation. The work we do together will be completely customized to address the specific goals and circumstances of your organisation.

One of the reasons why it can be hard to define self-care is that everyone’s needs, preferences and goals are different, so what one person finds nourishing differs from another, and our own needs also change over time. At the end of this workshop, you will understand self-care & it’s importance, look at compassion fatigue & burnout, you will learn the value of developing Resilience and a self-care plan.

In this workshop I will empower you to focus your time and attention so that you can enjoy all aspects of your life without feeling pulled in all directions.
